Testimonials
I
want to share with you some of the great letters received
from those who have bought my books. It is an honor
and very humbling to know I have helped my fellow outdoor
enthusiasts enjoy the outdoors as much as I do.
"My husband and I bought your 60
Hikes in 60 Miles of Nashville book earlier this summer
and think it's terrific. Everytime we get out and explore
some part of middle Tennessee we first check your book to
see if there are any hikes and landmarks we might want to
visit.
I got your email address from your website and
I'm looking forward to purchasing the 60 hikes
book for South Carolina, as we're from there
and return to visit family often. Thanks for
the great work you do. Happy Trails."

From
Becky Knapp and Gary Cunningham, Erie, PA:
"Hey,
Johnny ...
We are sitting here in Erie, PA, reminiscing about the four
months we spent (Memorial Day to Labor Day) virtually living
in campgrounds we learned of in your books. LOVED your
choices. We met a couple (weekend campers) from Washington,
D.C., who gave us a copy of one of your "Best of West
Virginia" camping while we were staying at Hawk campground.
We thought we had discovered a new planet when we began
perusing your books!
Went everywhere you wrote about -- from Seneca Rock to Big
Bend and BlueBend ... we hit 'em all, and LOVED 'em!
After that, we immediately went to bookstores in any state
we ventured into to find ONLY campground books that YOU had
authored. You're a godsend to the camping world, no joke. We
stayed in some of the most beautiful places I've ever seen
in my life ..."
Brad Parrish, Boston
Massachusetts writes:
"Greetings Johnny:
First off, I would like to thank you for writing a truly
great book (one of many for sure)
A Paddler's Guide to Everglades National Park. Just
recently my oldest brother, two cousins and my uncle
returned for an unforgettable adventure through Everglades
National Park. Your book was absolutely invaluable to the
planning and execution of the trip and we all really enjoyed
it … Also, we had a good laugh about with our neighbors that
night, whom we had spotted earlier in the day way off in the
distance hugging the eastern shore of Last Huston Bay trying
to find the Sweetwater Chickee. Upon befriending them we
learned that they had not read your book (foolish) and
therefore were not informed that the Sweetwater Chickee was
not accessible via Last Huston Bay. We showed them your
book and that particular reference and laughter from all
soon ensued.
In closing, as we were paddling out from Rabbit Key back to
the Gulf Coast Ranger Station on our last day we took a
brief break in the shallow waters surrounding Demijohn Key.
It was there that we decided to take a picture as our
tribute to you for writing such a cool book. My brother
decided to attempt to replicate your cover shot. Although,
we were not far from Jewel Key the winds were a bit much
that day so we decided on taking the shot on Demijohn Key.

The
picture is attached as well as a group shot from Mormon Key
(I’m in the blue shirt). Johnny, on behalf of my family and
I -- thank you for the inspiration and the invaluable
knowledge you provided in your book - we have the utmost
respect for you! We can’t wait to return. Best of luck in
all future endeavors….all the best to you!"
Sincerely,
Brad Parrish
